About Andy
I’m an artist, writer and illustrator of books and comics. I wrote and illustrated the best-selling Zac Power: High Risk, published by Hardie Grant, as well as creating cover art and internal illustrations for about twenty other books in this and other series, for Hardie Grant and Pearson Publishing.
Waaaay back in the 90s I created the Oddbodz and Space Oddbodz cards that warped many a young mind, as well as many Glo-Caps and other collectible thingummies.
Oddbodz fans have tracked me down for commissions – we have collaborated on some weird and wonderful art! Call me or email and we can chat about your ideas.
I have completed hundreds of design, illustration, animation, game design and character design projects, and several kids’ product designs over the last thirty years. My Oddbodz comics were published for several years in K-Zone magazine, and designed and animated the award-winning cult hit game OgOg Alive.
I was born in Melbourne but grew up in Sydney, Canberra, San Francisco, Nairobi, Johannesburg and Manila before returning to Australia to study. I lives in Melbourne with my wife, the interior designer Dianne Palmer. We have a son who is a designer and urban planner.
I am a vegan, and try to live with minimal impact on our natural world, running my business on green solar power and cycling whenever I can.
I live and work on aboriginal land, and acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people as the Traditional Owners and original custodians of this land. I pay my respects to their Elders – past and present and yet to emerge.
